The Mission

"Then the righteous will answer him, Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you? 40 "The King will reply, I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me."

Matthew 25:37-40

Our mission is to raise awareness and funds to promote the cause of the orphan and those in distress.

Project: Love One hopes to partner with local organizations and families to meet our goals; all of which come directly from our theme verse, Matthew 25:37-40.

Meet the physical needs of orphans around the world:

  • Hunger - provide food
  • Thirst - provide water
  • Clothing - provide clothing and shoes
  • Sickness - provide medicine to get well and general healthcare
  • Shelter There- aid in the building of overseas orphanages
  • Shelter Here - aid adoptive families in bringing children home to their forever families

Meet the spiritual needs of orphans around the world:

  • Show the love of Christ through meeting their needs
  • Tell them of the love of Christ by visiting them and presenting the Gospel in their language

Meet Our Team...

Jenn Burton

I am thankful to be married to my best friend, Matt. We have 3 children that God has blessed us with. Matt and I both went to school in Oklahoma and then moved to the Houston area in 2009. We were busy with our 2 boys and Matt’s work when God totally showed us that He had a plan for us and it was to help the cause of the orphan. We started the process of adoption and then met our daughter through a vacation host program, where 17 kids that were living in orphanages in Colombia came to stay with different families here in Houston. We adopted our daughter, Sandra, when she was 14 years old in 2012. Since then our family has been passionate about helping vulnerable children. I am so thankful to be part of such an awesome ministry that does just that!

Balie McKenzie

I was born and raised in a small town in southwest Michigan and have been in the Houston area since 2009.  I married my best friend, Carl, in 2011 and I am a stay at home mommy to our three amazing kiddos.

Carl and I enjoy helping our community and those in need and have a heart for orphans.  We became foster parents in January 2014 where we fostered a total of 5 children and adopted our son in August 2015.   We are actively pursuing additional ministry opportunities in with children and families in Ecuador. I am excited to be a part of Project: Love One and look forward to future projects that God brings our way

I am so happy to be part of Project: Love One! I grew up in The Woodlands and attended Baylor University. After graduating, I started working for Matt Burton, where I became good friends with Jenn, Ashley, Balie, and Carl. I have always loved working with children, but through these new relationships I was able to learn more about orphans and how to help. I feel so blessed to call each one of the ladies in PLO a friend! And it has been such a blessing to see God work through us as we serve Him together!

I have lived in the Houston are my entire life. I grew up in a small superb, Galena Park. After my husband, Eloy, and I were married we moved to the Spring area. Eloy and I have 4 children, ranging from a teenager to twin babies. I got involved in a women’s fitness ministry, Masterpiece Fitness, with Jenn and Dawn and through a series of events orchestrated by God, became involved with Project: Love One. I have been blessed to be able to have and raise 4 children of my own. My children are blessed enough to have a family that loves them and provides every need. Because we have been so fortunate, I believe God has called me to help those that are not so fortunate. I have looked in the eyes of orphans, and my heart wants to provide all I can for them.

Tonia Kuehn

I have grown up in the Conroe area and lived here my entire life. My husband, Weston, and I were childhood sweethearts and were reunited later in life. We have two precious daughters, Payton and Avyn. Both my husband and I grew up in Christian homes, but it wasn't until after we were married and had kids that our faith really flourished.
God has opened our eyes and hearts to the orphan crisis that surrounds us, and we are determined to bring awareness to others in our community so that orphaned children can find their forever homes. It has been an honor to serve beside the incredible ladies that are dedicated to Project: Love One. It has been a blessing to see how God is working in and through all of us.

Sarah Landry

I grew up in a military family, we traveled to many countries which has fueled my desire for all people to know Our Lord, Jesus Christ. I have lived in Texas for the last twenty years and currently live in the Montgomery area.  I was so blessed to be raised in a strong Christian family.
I met my husband, Michael, in college and we have been married for eleven great years. We have three amazing children, Grant-8, Ethan-6, and Adelyn-2.
My family participated in an orphan host program two years ago and, hosted a wonderful girl from Colombia for Christmas.  During that time we felt God calling us to serve and defend the orphan.
It is my prayer that Project: Love One will be an instrument used by God to minister to adopting families and orphans in need.

Ashley Lee

I have grown up in The Woodlands/Spring area most of my life. I had the blessing of growing up in a Christian home, and I became a Christ follower at the young age of 6. As I got older and faced the challenges of life, I quickly realized that I was nothing apart from my Savior! The Lord placed orphans on my heart at a young age, and I have always read about and prayed about the dilemmas that children face every day in the world around us. I believe with all my heart that God has been preparing me for orphan care ministry for many years, and I am so excited to see what He does through Project: Love One.
I have been married to my wonderful husband, Josh, for eight years, and we have a four-year-old son, Crosby, and a one-year-old son, Rowen. We are in the process of expanding our family through the blessing of adoption. We are adopting a young girl from Haiti! We advocate adoption in our community, and my hope is that Project: Love One will be a valuable resource for families that are interested in adoption as well.
